  • DESTINY MODIFIED FIRST STEP

With a new investment which will contribute to Turkey’s economic development and create new jobs in mind, Mr. Orhan ABALIOĞLU seeks advice from the Minister of Commerce & Industry Mehmet Turgut, who suggests him that he should talk to Mr. Turgut ÖZAL, the State Undersecretary for Planning of the time (a future Prime Minister and a staunch advocate of free market economy).   Paying a visit to Özal in his office, Mr. Abalıoğlu tells him that he intends to undertake an industrial enterprise in his hometown of Denizli.  However, since the State Planning Office did not have any incentive schemes for private enterprises at that time, Mr. Özal tells him that he should seek the counsel of Mr. Necmettin ERBAKAN, the President of Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (another future Prime Minister and a keen supporter of industrialization). His advice casts the fate of Orhan Abalıoğlu and of the Turkish feed industry.
